Babybel

I like cheese. Cheese is good. It takes burgers to another level. It turns tortilla chips into nachos. Cheese is like bacon. It makes everything better but it’s best enjoyed by itself. If I’m eating cheese as a snack I generally prefer some type of string cheese, but every once in a while I get the hankering for a Babybel. Babybel is a brand of cheese with a distinctive look. Each mini cheese wheel is encased within a protective red wax cover.

The cheese is decent but the red wax seal is the star of the show. After you eat the cheese you’re left with the wax. You can mold and squish and squeeze the wax. Its not as malleable as Silly Putty, but it’s still fun to play with. Babybel is an interactive snack. The wax also makes it holds up better than most cheese so you can take it hiking or backpacking. It’s a heavy duty cheese for traveling and enjoying life outdoors. You can also also eat it at the office. It’s very versatile.

Tater Tots

A tater tot is like a bite-sized hash brown. It’s diced up potato that is deep-fried and delicious. I would place tater tots in the top ten of American comfort foods because of how versatile they are. They can be a side dish or be featured in the main course. You never had a childhood if you never had a tater tot. Tater tots, or tots if you wanna be cool, are the official food of the Midwest. They have tater tot casseroles, tots are an acceptable pizza topping, and tots have even replaced tortilla chips in nachos (creating a dish called totchos). Every broke ass college kid should have a big bag of tots in the freezer. You can’t eat ramen everyday. You should mix it up with potato products and fries are too cliché. Tater tots can go with every meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all improved by a simple appearance from the majestic tot. You don’t have to believe me, but you’re missing out if you don’t have tater tots in your life.

Seaweed

Seaweed is a plant that grows in the ocean. It’s also what fish smoke. There are lots of different types of seaweed, but I can only name kelp off the top of my head. I’m writing about seaweed because I’m currently eating seaweed. I’m eating it as a snack. Yes, I’m Asian, how did you know? But it’s a good snack. They dry it out, and they manufacture it into nice sized pieces that you can pop in your mouth. It’s kind of salty, so it makes you drink more. It’s not filling, so you can drink more. It has no sugar or preservatives, so it’s got to be a little healthy. And if you’re healthy you can drink more. As you can see, there are a lot of reasons to eat seaweed. Try it. You might like it. If you do you can thank me. If you don’t, well that’s your lack of culture and upbringing so you can’t blame me.

Jiffy Pop

Jiffy Pop is a brand of popcorn. It’s not microwavable and it’s not pre-popped. It comes in an aluminum pan with a foil cover that you can heat up over an oven or open flame. It’s the best tasting popcorn in the world if you manage not to burn it. That’s because it takes considerate skill not to burn it. You’ve truly earned it if you make Jiffy Pop right. That makes it taste better. Jiffy Pop used to be common in the household. Now you mostly see it while camping or at bonfires if you see it at all. There’s no need to manually cook popcorn if you have a microwave handy. Jiffy Pop had its glory days. It’s time we all moved on, but there’s nothing wrong with a little nostalgia from time to time.

Slim Jim Tabasco

Slim Jim Tabasco takes the processed smoked snack stick you know and love and combines it with the spicy pepper sauce that you also know and love. It gives the meat stick an extra kick. It’s pretty good actually. I like it more than other Slim Jim flavors. It’s not extremely spicy but it makes you sweat a little bit. Real jerky is a thousand times better, but sometimes real jerky is not available. That’s when you grab a Slim Jim. And if you’re grabbing a Slim Jim, try the Tabasco infused one. As long as you’re settling for an inferior product, you might as well make it a superior inferior product. That’s what Slim Jim Tabasco is. A superior inferior product. That makes sense if you think about it long enough.

Bugles

Bugles are a cone shaped corn snack. They are crispy like chips, but are more fun and you can put them on your fingertips and they look like gnome hats. You might have to use your imagination. They don’t fit quite as well as when they did when I was a kid though. Finger foods are fun. They come in a few different flavors but Original is always the best choice. Bugles are good, but there’s no way you can eat them everyday.

Pretzel M&M’s

Candy is good. Chocolate is a good candy. M&M’s are a popular chocolate candy. Snacks are good. Pretzels are a good snack. Pretzels are a popular snack. People like to combine good things. Like chocolate and pretzels. The makers of M&M’s figured this out, and we’ve been able to enjoy Pretzel M&M’s ever since. And life has been good. If you like bite-sized chocolate candies, but wish there was a crunchy, salty pretzel center, this is the product for you.
