Lemonade Stand

I grew up in the suburbs in the ‘90s, back when it was still safe for kids to set up a lemonade stand outside on the street. The lemonade stand was an integral part of growing up. It was the few sources of income available. You could either mow the lawn, do random chores, or set up a lemonade stand. Lemonade stands were the best way to make cash. Mix some lemonade powder mix into a few pitchers of water and you’ll be turning a profit in no time. Lemonade stands used to be commonplace. You hardly see them anymore. Kids are too busy playing on tablets inside the house. I know I’m going to be a bitter old man because I already am one.

Brisk Half & Half Blueberry Lemonade

I went to 7-Eleven with the munchies the other day and left with a six-pack of beer, some chips, and a bottle of Brisk Half & Half Blueberry Lemonade. It’s basically an Arnold Palmer, which is half iced tea and half lemonade, but with blueberry-flavored lemonade instead of regular lemonade. It’s blue in color with a little purple tint. It tastes alright, but it’s a little too much on the sweet side. It has a syrupy-candy flavor and is too sugary to be refreshing. It’s not healthy, nor does it pretend to be. It’s a fucking blue soda. There’s no way that it’s good for you. And it has the unfortunate side effect of turning your tongue blue. It makes you look like you blew a Smurf.

Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Lemonade with Strawberry

Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Lemonade with Strawberry is a beverage from Arizona. It’s like an Arnold Palmer but with strawberry juice instead of iced tea, so there’s no caffeine. I really like caffeine, but this beverage has a lot of artificial sweeteners and high fructose corn syrup to get your energy levels up. It’s kind of sweet, it’s kind of sour, and I actually like it a lot. It tastes good but there’s no way this shit is healthy for you. I don’t know ho2 they got such a prominent athlete to market diabetes in a can. I would get it again, but I’m not as health-conscious as I should be. Now excuse me while I scarf down this Pixy Stick.

Leninade (soda)

Leninade is a surprisingly satisfying simple Soviet style soda but it’s made by California’s Real Sodas in Real Bottles, Ltd. It’s a lemonade-style soda, but it’s more sweet than it is sour. The novelty factor of the soda makes Leninade better than it really is. They really went all out with the fake Russian propaganda. The soda is even bright red. The bottle invites you to Join The Party! and to Get Hammered & Sickled! and to Drink Comrade! Drink! It’s This Or The Gulag! It’s really not A Taste Worth Standing In Line For! but it’s worth buying and trying just so you can send a picture of it to your Russian friends on VK. VK is like the Russian version of Facebook. The Cold War is over. Celebrate with a cold bottle of Leninade.

Ocean Spray Cran-Lemonade

Ocean Spray Cran-Lemonade is a cranberry and lemonade juice cocktail. I like it. It tastes good and it’s refreshing. Cranberry juice and lemonade make a good team. Cranberries are tart, lemons are sour, and they go great together. This isn’t a healthy beverage. A 15.2 fluid ounce bottle has 53 grams of sugar. That’s a lot of Pixie Stix. It does have 100% of your daily Vitamin C content so there are some benefits I guess. Ocean Spray Cran-Lemonade is slightly more satisfying than your average lemonade hybrid. There are better tasting, more refreshing, and healthier lemonades on the market, but you shouldn’t be too picky about lemonade. There’s nothing wrong with settling for Ocean Spray.

Hubert’s Mango Lemonade

Hubert’s Mango Lemonade is exactly what it sounds like – lemonade fused with mango. My little sister is allergic to mango. She will never experience the joy of this beverage. It only takes one sip to envision yourself laying out underneath a palm tree by the beach. It’s light, crisp, and exotic… the best way to describe it is to say that it tastes like summer. It’s a happy drink. It’s impossible to taste it and feel sad. Unless you’re my little sister and you’re allergic to mango. Everyone else can and should enjoy this beverage. If you’re looking for a lemonade with a tropical twist, then I recommend Hubert’s Mango Lemonade.

Simply Limeade

It’s a hot summer day and you want a cold refreshing drink. Lemonade seems to be the ideal drink for this situation but sometimes you want to mix things up a bit without going too crazy. That’s then you should reach for a limeade. It’s like lemonade, but it’s made with limes instead of lemons. It’s more sour, it’s more tart, and it’s an overall more intense citric experience. Simply Limeade is just one brand’s version of limeade, and it’s one of the few limeades that you might find in a convenience store. Limeade isn’t as popular as most other fruit beverages, so it’s harder to find a store that carries it. If you’re lucky enough to spot it, you should grab it. Limeade is a drink that doesn’t get much respect. Limeade is an occasional treat, an alternative to the mundane. You’ve never met anybody that prefers it over all other beverages. And if they do, they are fucking weird as shit and that’s enough of a reason to stop talking to them.

Rockstar Recovery Energy/Tea/Lemonade

For thousands of years there was just one main energy drink and it was called coffee. Then people created soda but that wasn’t enough and so we came up with energy drinks. And now everybody and their mom has their own line of energy drinks. Red Bull is the best energy drink, and Rockstar has a claim for second place. Rockstar has lots of different flavors and varieties and Rockstar Recovery Energy/Tea/Lemonade is one of their newer ones. It’s like an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade and half iced tea) but it has caffeine, taurine, ginseng, milk thistle, and electrolytes. Plus is only 10 calories so it’s just as healthy as water. You can drink it all day, everyday with no adverse effects. It has a slight aftertaste like most diet energy drinks, but a shot of vodka makes it unnoticeable.

Simply Lemonade with Raspberry

Simply Lemonade with Raspberry is an all-natural lemonade with raspberry puree. It’s not made from concentrate, it says so right on the label. It’s also 11% juice. I don’t know if that’s good or not. I will go out on a limb and say yes. It’s a healthier alternative to soda, but there’s still a lot of sugar. There’s no caffeine because it’s lemonade and that would be weird. It’s refreshing and it has vitamins. Vitamins are good for you.
